Digital Strategist

Location: While the position is remote, applicants must be located in Arizona or Colorado. Occasional travel to Phoenix, Arizona (1-2 times per year) may be required.

Our clients are nonprofits, businesses, and political/advocacy campaigns. The foundation of our work is helping them identify their core purpose and developing messaging that powerfully communicates it both internally and externally. 

As a team we are hard-working, driven to win, and passionate about progress.  We are growing steadily and with intention. We have 10 full time team members and a dedicated team of vendors and subcontractors. 

Our next digital strategist must have wide knowledge of digital and other content delivery platforms that will help our clients and our company achieve success. You understand people and how they interact with digital media and excel at out-of-the-box thinking. Your approach is creative yet methodical, and you are a fanatic about analytics and understand different analytical platforms. You bring the same passion to training and supporting the rest of the team to ensure our digital work aligns with everything else happening at Javelina. 

More specifically, you will: 

  • Create impactful, integrated and cost-effective digital strategies for our nonprofit, business and political clients
  • Analyze and report on digital campaign results, customer trends and user data
  • Engage with clients using proactive, kind communication 
  • Develop and oversee client budgets to ensure projects run on time and budget, and meet profitability goals 
  • Ensure we are impacting change for clients and delivering truly excellent client service measured by client satisfaction ratings
  • Conduct initial training with team members to develop core competency for digital services
  • Develop and build internal systems and tools necessary to deliver this service
  • Develop and deploy new tactics as necessary to meet client needs and keep us on the cutting edge of digital capability
  • Collaborate with sales team on pitches and proposals for digital services and projects
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and establishing new market opportunities in the digital space
  • Advise Javelina’s marketing department to ensure we are maximizing digital channels for our own outreach and brand building efforts
  • While you don’t need to be an expert at each, we are looking for someone who has a working knowledge of the following strategies: 
    • Digital Media Buying: Programmatic, Streaming Devices & Addressable TV
    • Paid Social Campaign with a Social Pressure Component
    • Email List Acquisition
    • Google Adword Campaigns
    • Mobile geo-fencing on a granular level
    • Social Media Listening
    • Creative Content Testing & Optimizer
    • Ad Design & Video Production
    • Digital Events

Exceptional candidates will have some of these:

  • 5+ years experience in digital strategy capacity
  • 3+ years in a client facing role
  • Experience working in the marketing, branding and advertising sector 
  • Digital strategist certification

  • Flexible: When things do go wrong (which they often do), you are calm and solution-focused and work with your team to find the best solution and act on it.  You are comfortable reprioritizing and pivoting to a new approach.
  • Coachable: You take feedback seriously, not personally. You own your mistakes and use them as a learning opportunity to swiftly make the changes necessary.

Additional details:

  • Employment Type: Full-time, exempt 
  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $85,000 annually. Compensation commensurate with experience and rates consistent with geographic market.
